This building, where we are now, has the lowest rooftop remaining in Manegg

A tall forest of concrete rumbles is hustling to claim the sunniest spot.
To get as far as possible in the sky.
Our roof will soon be covered by their long branches and disappear.

We wonder, how long will it take them to reach the stars.

Performance by Emma Dotti, Chiara Sibilla, Sabrina Zanolini, 9 October 2026, Fondazione ICA Milano.

An evening of performances by Emma Dotti, Chiara Sibilla and Sabrina Zanolini. High Tide reflects on the transformation, adaptation, resistance and resilience of humankind under the strains, tensions and challenges of survival at the end of the Anthropocene. The three artists, who studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, explore the critical points of human anatomy through their performative practices.

A scientific perspective opens the discussion, questioning the claim to impose ourselves on the world in an upright position. In the background, a deafening fight exposes the risks of an all too efficient locomotion. In the half-light, a transformation of the body becomes a clumsy attempt at rebellion, trying in vain to interfere with the evolutionary process. Moving through a dynamic of cause and effect, a structure takes shape in which forms of resistance, instability and inadequacy emerge. The works conceived for Fondazione ICA Milano establish a close relationship with the place, physical and metaphorical.

I'll be performing for Sabrina at the event.

Group show by Sabrina Zanolini, Alessandro Agudio, Antonio Allevi, Elisabetta Lazlo, Davide Stucchi, Caterina De Nicola, Studio NM3, Beatrice Marchi, Gianni Pettena, Emanuele Marcuccio, Markus Schinwald, 15 April – 30 May 2025, Circolo.

There’s No Place Like Home distils a new narrative of the idea of home: intriguing and dysfunctional, classic, welcoming, seductive but also uncomfortable and political. Identity, dystopia and heterotopia coexist in works that question architecture, space, objects and functions. There’s No Place Like Home connects with the critical discourse of some of the most interesting experiments on the idea of domesticity, from Judy Chicago and Miriam Schapiro’s Womanhouse (Los Angeles, 1972) to the works of the Seventies by Dan Graham and Robert Smithson (California, 1972). Through this analytical perspective, There’s No Place Like Home deconstructs the stereotype of the bourgeois home and the power structures underlying the traditional idea of dwelling, unmasking the patriarchal, hegemonic and heteronormative matrices that inform it.
